Our personal circumstances inevitably change as life goes on. Be sure to take the time on a regular basis to ask yourself whether you’re happy with how things are going, and whether there are areas that can be improved. Revisit and revise your personal mission statement and vision as necessary. Be sure to keep your goals clear, measurable, and relevant to your current situation.

For example, I completely reworked by mission statement and vision when I found out I was going to be a mother. And I had to rearrange some of my goals to happen sooner or later than I’d originally planned.

It’s a good idea to set aside a block of time on your calendar on a recurring basis, maybe every 3 months or so, to make sure your mission, vision and goals still resonate with you; and if not, revamp them by going back through the exercises in your workbook.

If you have a lot of major changes, print a fresh copy and start over from scratch. If you just need to make a few minor changes to the original, grab a red pen to make edits and strike out what no longer works, and a yellow highlighter to call out the really important stuff that you want to focus on more.
